Saginaw Deck Building exists because finding a deck builder around here has gotten strangely hard. Ask in a local Facebook group and you'll get forty comments and three names, two of whom don't call back. We wanted to be the one who does.
What we do is narrow on purpose. Decks: new ones, replacements, repairs, and the staining that keeps a wood deck alive. Wood and composite both, because Saginaw homeowners want both and the big composite-only companies can't say yes to half of them. We work in the city and across Saginaw County, from the river lots downtown to the wooded acreage out past Hemlock.
What we don't do is guess. Every job starts with someone standing in your yard, and every price is written down before anyone picks up a shovel.
How we work
- We come look first. Sun, shade, drainage, how the house meets the yard. You can't price a deck from a photo, and we don't.
- Written estimates, itemized. Footings, frame, decking, rails, stairs, haul-away, clean-up. Wood and composite side by side. Then time to think.
- Built for the weather here. Footings below the frost line, framing sized for lake-effect snow, flashed ledgers, boards gapped to dry. The invisible parts get the most attention.
- Straight talk about materials. If cedar fits your yard and budget better than composite, we say so. If your old frame is done, we say that too.
- We answer the phone. During business hours you get a person. Miss us and we call you back. It shouldn't be a selling point, but around here it is.
What we won't do
We won't quote a price from your driveway to beat someone else's number. We won't lay new boards on a frame we know is rotting. We won't sell you composite if you'd be happier with wood, or the other way around. And we won't leave a pile of your old deck in the yard for a month.
